It's "I get to wear t-shirts to work" week.  yes!  So, to everyone out there that's doing the thankless job of keeping all the whining bitches and morons across America safe, I give you my respect.  If only they would let you kick all the jackasses and assholes who called in to complain in the shins this week.  Please, support your local dispatch center(s), especially this week.

For our celebration of the week, our center is doing a tail-gate party at our Events Center tomorrow.  Then, we are going to the local Indoor Football League game.  Apparently we get to do all the little promotional contests and junk on the field as well.  Plus, we also will get recognized during half time down on the field.  I am not so sure about all of that, but Lindsey thinks I should go down, so I am going to.  So, yeah, that's tomorrow.

Oh, Disturbed is coming to town in May.  While I am not the biggest fan, I do enjoy their music.  We get so few non-country musicians in this town that any time someone comes, it's worth your while to go see them.  The concert is on a Monday, May 22.  I will have to see if Lindsey can go.  I will also have to see how much money I have.

I just had an eye appointment yesterday, so I can finally buy new glasses.  I need to make another appointment to get my contacts as well.  I hadn't been to the eye doctor for 4-5 years.  I was in desperate need.  Apparently my eyes had corrected themselves a little bit.  That doesn't make much difference since I still can't see much without glasses or contacts, but at least the lenses aren't getting any thicker.

I was watching the Disney movie Dinosaurs.  I am a big fan of animation in general, so I picked it up when I saw it for only $9.99(that's cheap for a Disney film on DVD!).  Well, I was a little disappointed.  I never realized that a large amount of the footage is real environments with the cg dinosaurs shot on top of it.  The thing about it is that it's so noticeable it bothers me.  Cheap ass Disney.   This wasn't Pixar, and it shows.  However, it is probably the only Disney movie with an apocolyptic like event that occurs during the film.  And tons of stuff dies as well.  The only thing I would add to the movie is an end scene where it shows a giant meteor about to hit the earth.  Then, the screen goes black.

  • The Conquerer

Well, it's my last day of work this week and I am not on call.  Hoorah.

Mike finally got his Xbox 360, so we will be playing the rest of the weekend.  I have a tournament on Sunday in Ghost Recon.  Hopefully I will do better than in the PDZ tournament.  At least I like the game this time.

Oh, big news.  Ubisoft is releasing a NARUTO game for the 360!  That so rocks!

It's like a year before it comes out, but it's still cool.

Right now we are watching Kull:The Conquerer on the Sci-fi channel.  Really good movie.  Not because of the acting or anything, but it's really fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.

I have been working dilligently on my comic adaption of HP Lovecraft's The Terrible Old Man.  So, far the first page is about 60% inked.  And it's the hardest page I think.Only 10 more to go after this.

I haven't seen Lindsey since Tuesday.  I have not been able to reach her a single night since, except for a short call on Wednesday night, which I got disconnected from(I finally reached her while I was at Wal-mart picking up stuff to make my lunch.  Our Wal-mart is a bitch to get cell reception in).  Suffice to say I am a little annoyed.

Last week, I was so pissed.  We hung out on Thursday, then on Friday she was supposed to plan what we were going to do.  I get off work and call her over and over.  No answer.  I did not hear from her at all that night.  Now, I am not a control freak or anything.  I don't need to know where she is at all times or some shit like that.  BUT, if we made plans to do something, she could at least give me a fucking courtesy call saying she wouldn't be able to make it so I don't piss away my evening waiting for her to fucking call me!  Leave me a message or something.  She would do that for her friend, but not me for some reason.  And while we didn't make plans this weekend, it would be nice to talk to her, even if it's just a short call.  She does this all the time to me.  She goes out of town without telling me.  I'm sorry, but we've been going out for four years now.  It's just stuff you share with the other person.

Sorry, but I had to bitch and moan about something, because between this, these stupid allergies I've had at work(it seems like I am tearing up and snotting the entire 12 hour shift, and it won't stop!), plus the shitty work week I have had: it's been a little much this week.

I am using the upgraded profile now, it's pretty slick!  The photo blog looks cool too.

Heh. Now it's The 13th Warrior that is on Sci-fi.  Awesome!

  • Red Right Hand

I am reading the Vampire Hunter D American translated novels currently.  I am reading the second right now; it is called Raiser of Gales.  D is a badass.  I really have to say.  The second one is much better than the first I think, but that's to be expected. I don't know if it's just a better translation or if the original writing is just better.  I wish I could read the original Japanese language versions.  Maybe someday.

Anyway, I saw this kick ass music video set to Nick Cave's Red Right Hand song.  It is made from just  clips from the first movie(I think it was made before the second was released), but it was still very good.  Sure, D's possessed hand is his left hand, but this was still a cool idea for a video.

On a similar topic of hands.  I keep hurting my right hand.  First it was my thumb.  Today, I just pinched my middle finger in a sliding drawer at work.  I have this big red mark/bruise on the tip of my finger.  The only good thing about hurting your middle finger is obvious.  You can flip people off all the time, but blame it on your injury, so no one can get mad easily.  Heh.  This isn't hurt so bad, though.  I won't feel it by tonight.

It's time to eat some Subway.

  • Nothin' to it

Same old things over here.  Lindsey is busy with work, writing papers, and tests.  We did get to hang out on Tuesday, though.  We watched A History of Violence.  That movie was not what I expected.  Good, but not what I expected.

Monday was a complete nerd night.  I had just finished cleaning the living room(which still looks spectacular), when my friend Dan called.  I haven't talked to him in months.  So, I hung out with him and two other guys until midnight at the Village Inn while we played Dungeons & Dragons.  I am not a huge D&D fan, but I do love roleplaying games, so I enjoyed myself.  It was so nerd, though.  I just went home shaking my head to myself.    We may be doing this more often as well.  The guys were just so classic; I can't get over it.  I do find myself more comfortable with them, than with other people, however.

After that, I played Oblivion.  Yes, it is finally here.  The biggest reason I wanted a Xbox 360 is finally playable.  It is amazing.  However, because I have the tendancy to play all night long without pause, I am not allowing myself to play(much, at least) during the work week.  The game is just amazing.

I hate the fact that I am at work again.  My days off once again passed me by.

Oddest thing about today: I noticed David brand sunflower seeds have instructions about how to eat them on the back of the package.  It's just not something I thought we as a society would have to explain to someone.

  • Oblivious

I am so tired of the food network.  It's the same thing all day long, and we have been watching it all week.  Finally, this morning I got to change it to the Discovery channel.  There's some Egyptology show on.  Nothing much else on this morning.

I woke up at 0430 this morning, got up to use the bathroom, then jammed my fingers trying to open the door in the dark.  I think I almost peeled off my thumbnail because it hurt like hell.  It's just a little purple now.

Last night we saw V for Vendetta.  The action, though there's not much of it, is badass.  I liked the story as well.  There were one or two parts that seemed a little contrived, but maybe that's the annoying critic that has been building in me lately.  Per Lindsey, I must cut that out!  I don't really see the whole "this movie is encouraging Al Queda terrorism" thing.  I think it helped build hype for the movie, however.  It was fun to see, especially after the crappy day I had at work.

Other movies on my recent "must see" list:

    Ultraviolet

    Silent Hill

    The Hills Have Eyes

Yeah, there's not much out right now.  I think this is actually a unique time where there are more DVDs I want to see than theater movies.

Only 3 more days until Oblivion!!

  • Naruto DVD

Well, guess what's hitting DVD on the 28th of this month: Naruto! However, this is the EDITED English only DVD. And I don't care how un-edited toonami is, the fact they put that word on the DVD means it's shit I won't pay to see. It will be episodes 1-4 at the low introductory price of $19.99(that's decent at least). Plus, I love the Japanese voice casting.  No word on when we will finally see the good stuff here in the States.

  • Health...y

I dragged my mom through Wal-mart and Target today.  We needed groceries badly, and while I payed for most of it, I just need someone to go with me.  It's too dull otherwise.  Plus, I am so tired from work, I like to have her drive me around.

I tried to go healthy.  I bought grapefruit juice(un-sweetened with extra vitamin crap), some V8 cans(not the splash; I am trying to choke one down right now and it's not working), lean cuisine meals(I have to eat something at work that's microwavable).  I don't know.  Honestly I don't even really know what healthy is.  I just know I don't want to get fat(which I am), and I want to buff up.  So, I need to start eating better and working out.

Now that I am going to days for the next six weeks for work, I hopefully will be able to spend some time at the gym.  I am not looking forward to the switch however, as days at my job suck ass!  I will get to theoretically see Lindsey more often.  Plus, I might make the premiere of the Silent Hill movie.

I am hoping to see Lindsey this week, but who knows.  I haven't talked to her in 3 days.  I tried calling, but just get her voice mail.  I want to go to that Ultraviolet movie as well.  Sounds like fun.  Oh, and V for Vendetta.  That movie looks bad ass.

  • What the Heck???!?!?

I posted something yesterday, but xanga seems to have broken.  It never showed up!

Well, I didn't have much to say anyway.  Still getting called out to work bullshit shifts, missing my one day with Lindsey every week because of work, and my brother left town without hanging with me.  Same fucking shit as always.

    My hand feels better though.

I am reading the Vampire Hunter D novels currently.  They are translated from Japanese.  The first book is difficult to read because the book is so similar to the first animated movie.  I easily get distracted because I know the story so well.  However, it is still very good.  I can't wait to start the other two that have been released so far.  It's nice to be reading again.  I haven't done much of it lately.

Otherwise, I have been working on some projects for other people's shit lately.  I seem to be on a role.  I created some advertisement images for my clan site, communications and tactics guides, and a promo video for the game: http://www.minionstudios.com/AOW/aow_promo_large.wmv

I think I did a decent job considering there is almost no footage for the game available right now.  However, I haven't been doing stuff for my site, so I feel guilty.  I will work on it this week.  At least I am not just sitting around doing nothing like normal, though.  I need to finish this fucking comic.

I watched Howl's Moving Castle last night.  The studios Ghibli films are inspirational.  Every time I watch one, it gets my creative juices flowing.  I just want to make something.  This film was fantastic.  They really did a superb job with the voice casting.  Christian Bale plays Howl, which is cool.  I loved the action and all the magical things that happen to the characters.

I also watched My Neighbor Totoro last night as well.    Cool stuff.  Well, that's my life for the past week.

  • In Pain

Well, I have been telling myself I would update more often, but it seems I can only do about once a week.  I am really frustrated about that.

My website is working again, as you may have noticed by the graphic at the top.  My hosting provider offered no explanation of what caused the disruption of service.

My legs are aching.  Lindsey and I jogged/walked this path between Crossroads park and the North Casper ballfields.  While it wasn't honestly the most excercise I have ever had, it's the most I've had in months.  So, I was a big wuss about it tonight when I got to work.

I hurt my wrist at work as well.  I don't know what happened, but it hurts to use it.  I am using IcyHot like no tomorrow and have it in a brace.  However, I may have to skip my gaming festivites this weekend if it doesn't feel better.

I haven't gotten to spend much time with my brother and he leaves on Monday.  I am dissappointed about that, but hey, that's what life is about.

    And that's it.
